“The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land.”
When the Old Testament speaks of ‘the land’ it is referencing what we would understand as an inheritance. I have often pondered the difference between living life on earth as one of God’s children and as a person who is not a part of His family. I do not see the win in a life of sin that so many do not want to relinquish to become a Christian to be as fun and rewarding as they seem to believe it is. Their eternity is frightening to consider and their life on earth seldom offers true joy and peace as well as fun and happiness. The believer who walks intimately with God is blessed not only in eternity but in this life as well. Where the losts internal condition is based strictly on their external conditions the believer finds their external situation tempered and, at times, rescued by their internal condition which is governed by the indwelling presence of God. I have found myself wishing the lost could find true enjoyment in this life since it is going to get so much worse in the next. I know that God allows sins toll to push their broken spirit toward Him. So I pray they listen. Today celebrate your inheritance both now and forever. #BeTheEdge
