“The name of the righteous is used in blessings, but the name of the wicked will rot.”

I read a funny quote today, “Who ever thinks of calling a child Judas or Nero.” However my Hispanic brethren have an awful lot of men named Jesus. Granted that would make me a bit nervous. The point being Solomon is right. More specifically this is about legacy, what comes to mind after we are gone. There are lots of ways to be remembered. I find the first thing that comes to mind when a person is remembering someone to be instructive. A favorite has been “fun’. I remember a families kids remembering their grandfather with smiles and giggles when I asked them how they remembered him. Honest, fearless, loving, hard working are all words when shared automatically are a testimony to a good person. Godly is a great one for the righteous Believer. Cruel, mean, cold, distant, hard, cheap are all terms that conjure up a picture of a person that makes me sad. It tells of a person devoid of the fruit of the Spirit in their life. We have something to do with what our one word obituary turns out to be. Followers of God who have His in dwelling Spirit better bring to mind the positive, uplifting terms or our walk with the Lord is a bit suspect. As true followers of Christ its impossible to contain the character of our savior. Today start writing a God honoring obituary by allowing His story to shine through you. #BeTheEdge

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭NIV‬‬
