“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”
Herod told the wise men that once they discovered where the newborn King was, they should let him know. He explained that he wanted to go worship and celebrate Him as well. As we now know, that was a lie. In this passage, Solomon reminds us that those who live upright, honest lives of integrity don’t fear being caught or tripped up. The corrupt and deceptive, on the other hand, will always be afraid of being exposed and punished. Herod claimed to want good for the baby Jesus, but what he really had in mind was murder. An angel warned the wise men to reroute their trip home to avoid the lying leader. The Holy Spirit does the same for us. A good friend who ran several companies once shared how he avoided what appeared to be good deals because of a nagging sense of deception or dishonesty in the people they were dealing with. The Holy Spirit is not only in the conviction and redemption business; He is also in the inspiring and protecting part of our journey. Today, be honest and listen to that still, small voice. #BeTheEdge
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” Jesus
