Proverbs 11:3 NIV

“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”

I asked ChatGPT what the most important verse in this chapter was, and this is the one it gave me. Is that true? Sometimes, yes. The most important verse, chapter, or even book often depends on what’s going on in your life at the moment you’re in the Scriptures. A passage that never caught my attention before can suddenly take on great significance when I’m dealing with something it speaks directly to—especially when God’s Spirit, the cry of my heart, and life circumstances all converge. In those moments, the Word leaps off the page. That being said there is a strong truth for us on the issue of integrity in this verse. The definition of integrity is: 1. The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness. 2. The state of being whole and undivided. A friend once told me, “I wrestle daily with sin that would embarrass me if my friends knew about it. I struggle to live a life of integrity.” We began to talk and work through his hidden struggles together. I’m a firm believer that public sin requires public confession and repentance, while private sin calls for private confession—usually with an accountability partner—and repentance. Today, strive to live a life of integrity and let the Holy Spirit, not ChatGPT, direct your heart. #BeTheEdge
