“The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”
I’m pretty confident that we do as well. The fact that God feels that way is not surprising at all. The fact that some would live as though they don’t know it is what’s surprising. Solomon often states very simple and clear truths as a reminder. I’m amazed at how often we can live in blatant stupidity, as though it doesn’t matter. A key point in this verse is that we not only tell the truth but we live truthfully. We deal honestly. Now there is a business principle that can be impactful in todays business environment.Jeff told me the other day that a supplier made a mistake on an invoice. Not a big one and one that he knew would never be noticed. However, knowing how God feels about His servants living trustworthy in all their dealings he did not hesitate to notify the vendor and correct the error. The vendor was surprised and amused. He asked why Jeff bothered with the relatively insignificant error. He told him that it was just not how his company did business and that they answered to a higher authority. Over the years that relationship went from a casual business connection to a genuine friendship. Today act with integrity and be trustworthy and delight your Heavenly Father. #BeTheEdge
