Proverbs 12:5 NASB

“The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.” Proverbs 12:5 NASB

Jesus clearly tells us that we will know His followers by their actions or, more specifically, by the “fruit” their lives produce.  Here, Solomon goes deeper. He tells us that the very thoughts and patterns of thinking of His followers are just. Conversely, even the deliberate thoughts of the lost/wicked are evil. You see, it is at a thinking level that Who we belong to is seen. It is in the depths of our hearts, before actions are born, that Christ and His Spirit reign. We are instructed to “take every thought captive.” That the battle is won or lost before the first shot is fired. We are to be “transformed by the making new of” our thoughts. God’s truth will sink deep into our spirit and change us. I have often shared with parents that their child will be growing in faith long before they will see the resulting actions come to the surface of their lives. That’s a good thing. Effort to change behavior without the work of God on the spirit will never last. God’s word was not written for information, it was written for transformation. Today, let His truth seep into your soul and change you into the image of Christ from the inside out.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2a NASB
