Proverbs 1:28 NIV

“Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me,”

April fools day. I have a friend who once told me he thought the message of salvation might have some merit. He said his plan was to “live his life” and right before he took his last breath invite Christ in, just in case. Not a brilliant plan. April fools. I can guarantee that he is pretty much out of luck. Not everyone is that foolish with their eternity but Solomon is making it clear that the time to consider our plans is before acting on them, not after. It is not foolish to live only after counting the cost. It is foolish to trade the eternal for the temporal. That is what my friend thought was a smart decision in hoping to get into heaven just under the wire. Living as though ignoring Christ allows you to “enjoy” those things that don’t last is ignorant. JIm Elliot, before being killed on the mission field said, “He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep for that which he cannot lose.” In this verse Solomon lets us know that the true fool is the one who ignores the wisdom and instruction of God and plays the odds of sneaking into God’s Kingdom under the wire. Today live purposely for Christ and don’t delay in being fully His. #BeTheEdge

“For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
