Proverbs 1:3 NIV

“for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair;” ‬‬

“Sometimes I just don’t know the right thing to do.” I can’t tell you how many times I heard this or some version of it from parents during my 40 years of working with teenagers. It was almost always a legitimate concern. Most of them looked everywhere they could think of for the answers. Friends, neighbors, books, even well intentioned strangers all had an opinion. When asked I tried to take Solomon’s approach. Today I often have business leaders looking for direction in finding the “right” answer in dealing with staff or client issues. Again I take Solomon’s approach. If you are looking for what is right, just and fair the scriptures are here for you. As Solomon tells us in this verse, and many others, that is what God offers in His Word. If I knew I could find out how to treat every situation rightly , justly and fairly I would always want that input. Good friends and mentors can be a huge help but, their counsel needs to point you toward scripture for its foundation. Otherwise take it as kind advise but run it through the filter of God’s Word. Today treat others correctly as directed by God’s truth. #BeTheEdge

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Jesus
