Proverbs 2:3 NIV

“indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,”

That person sounds a bit desperate don’t they. “Call out, cry aloud!” are pretty strong images. Aren’t you glad you’re not that desperate? Or are you? Here’s the thing. We may not realize it. We may think our life is moving pretty smoothly right now or even if there are some bumps in our journey we feel pretty sure we have it under control. As I write this the world is watching a war take place. Everyday the tv, news papers and social media show people under attack and in dire straights. They know they are desperate. I’m here to tell you that we are too. Oh we may not have bombs and bullets targeting the ones we love and our very existence. But, in a very real sense we are under attack by an enemy who hates us and wants us dead, both physically and spiritually. We don’t always recognize this enemies weapons. At times they are so slick and subtle we forget that war rages over us at every moment. C.S. Lewis once wrote that every inch of the universe is controlled by either God and His forces or satan and his and they are continually being fought over. This includes the inches taken up by your life and the lives of those you love. Indeed it’s time to start every day crying out for insight and instruction. Today recognize the battle you’re in and pursue the wisdom of your leader, God. #BeTheEdge
