“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”
Lots of kids are reminded many times as they grow up of various life rules. How many times in life are we reminded to eat our fruits and vegetables? Maybe you still hear “brush your teeth.” Another one is to treat others the way you want to be treated. That one’s actually biblical. Some proverbs need no explanation, and this seems to be one of those. However, like certain instructions feel to kids, we may want to believe that reading a passage once in life is enough. Yet, it is good to remember that it is always valuable to reconsider every truth from God’s word. If God felt it important enough to include in His eternal word, it certainly deserves all the reflection we can give it. Want to gain great wisdom and insight? Study God’s word and read the great writings of ancient kingdom thinkers. Want something easier to go along with that? Walk with godly, wise people. Spend time listening to them and watching how they live. It is not only instructive and will influence your life, but it can also be fun and exciting. The leaders God is using to usher His kingdom onto the earth are fascinating. Today, if they allow it, hang around them. #BeTheEdge
