Proverbs 1:33 NIV

“but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

Almost every day it seems I hear about a friend or acquaintance who is facing an unforeseen battle. It can be a health crisis or a social or even a financial crisis that came out of nowhere. A wife walks in and, with no prior indication, tells a husband she’s leaving. A child goes to the doctor for a nagging cough only for the parents to be told they have cancer. A business woman steps into her bank to discover her partner has absconded with all their funds. One thing after the other comes out of the blue to blindside and stab the heart of God’s children. Thats right, all of these stories and so many more happened in the lives of Christians. We are not immunized from life’s heartaches at conversion. We can prepare for ever possible evil we can imagine but ultimately, in this fallen world, we can never anticipate or safeguard ourselves from every one. What God offers is not an escape from the storms. He promises peace in the midst of the storms and ultimately victory over them. Safety in God’s wisdom means freedom from the stranglehold of fear, not necessarily pain. Life hurts. This is a result of Adam and Eve’s choice. However, God guarantees us that no matter what we face He is right there with us. He is leading, guiding, protecting and giving a peace that we cannot begin to understand. Today walk confidently into your unknown in peace with the Prince of Peace. #BeTheEdge
