“The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked make themselves a stench and bring shame on themselves.”
This is another verse where God is plainly cautioning us about our words and truth telling. The follower of God hate’s lying, their own and in others. I always told my kids when they were young that I could deal with anything as long as they told the truth. There may be discipline for what they did or failed to do but it would be 10 times worse if they lied about it. It wasn’t always about the subject of the lie. Often it was being fearful about the habit that could form as a result of practicing the behavior. It is very tempting to lie. Some like to refer to it as shading the truth or minimize it by dismissing it as a little white lie. To God it is black and white. 100% truth or a lie. I was once asked what you call something that is 99.9% true and .1% not true. Answer:a lie. The picture of a pure glass of water that a drop of dirt or poison is added to and it becomes completely polluted is applicable to this reality. Solomon let’s us know here that the wicked or lost person once saved will view their own lies as despicable. Jesus called Himself The Truth. We should be committed to nothing less. Today speak and live truth and watch your words and life flourish. #BeTheEdge
