Proverbs 14:15 NIV

“The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.”

The simple are unanchored, adrift. There is no core in their center. There are no boundaries to what they allow to influence and direct their journey. It is being written by happenstance. It is also no wonder that their life ends often in awful, or at least, sad places. Even hell. However, as the dictionary says or the prudent, those “acting with or showing care and thought for the future”, are the wise. Occasionally it may appear that the simple actually put together a journey that could be considered successful or meaningful. That view however neglects the deeper truth that no one’s story is fully written until the final chapter is penned. Eternity is not a choice. It will be visited upon the simple and the prudent. Scripture puts it this way, “It is appointed to man to die once and then face judgement”. You see a persons story may look completed at their death but that is only when seen through temporal eyes. We are all eternal beings and the ones with simple, empty beliefs will end in eternal separation. Those who enter eternity with an intimate relationship with their creator God head into that final step filled with joy and peace for their prudent, self controlled journey. Today live with an eye carefully on eternity. #BeTheEdge
