Proverbs 14:22 NIV

“Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.” Proverbs 14:22 NIV

The old saying goes ‘those who fail to plan, plan to fail.’  My life experiences tell me that there is a lot of truth to that saying. I’m curious how many of you are out looking for a Valentine’s Day card or discovering that restaurants are booked solid today. In years past, I have planned to pick up a card or gift only to find that what I really did was intend to do those things, but I didn’t really have a plan. Solomon is not talking about a failure to plan here but rather a type of planning. He tells us that those who plan evil are even worse than those who do evil. However, he also challenges us to think about planning good for others, which is a powerful way to love. Considering what is best for others is a reflection of all of God’s desires. He is not about plotting or planning for evil for anyone. To be sure, evil does occur, but it is a result of the evil and sin in man. Valentine’s Day is a great time to think about how to bless those we love. It is also a great time to think about how we expand that group as we move forward into our work and the rest of the world tomorrow. Today, shower those you encounter with God’s love. #BeTheEdge #HappyValentinesDay
