Proverbs 15:3 NIV

“The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.” Proverbs 15:3 NIV

There was some heartbreak around our house a couple days ago when we learned that a minister we have followed and learned from for years had led a very secret and dark life. When I heard the first rumors four years ago, I dismissed them along with most others in the Christian leadership community.  A couple of days ago, months after his death, the board of his ministry released a statement apologizing to the ones who accused him years ago admitting to the fact that he was guilty of that and so much more. I still struggle to reconcile the picture of the man I had learned so much from for decades and the secret broken places in his soul. We never know who’s wicked or who’s good. We don’t need to. God does. We are responsible for one person – ourselves. He sees into the darkness as well as He does in the light. God has night vision, but more than that, He has x-ray vision for He sees deep into our heart and soul. Deeper than we can ever see into ourselves. I have often referred to the eyes of Jesus and the power that must have been revealed in them. We need to find those in our life we allow to speak into our broken places, but mostly we need to allow God to speak to us of what He sees and allow Him to purify the impure. Today, reflect on what God calls sin that is in your story and let Him root it out…now. #BeTheEdge
