Proverbs 14:34 NIV

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.”

Kind of appropriate that this verse fell on today’s schedule as we go verse by verse through Proverbs. It’s primary elections day in Alabama. I am not foolish enough to suggest who anyone should vote for. However, as you try to decide, this passage is a great filter for our vote. Candidates who represent and promote righteousness as a way of operating their lives individually and ours collectively it is a great place to start. Conversely, those who seem to be promoting an agenda of sinful principles and behavior are a destructive choice. Notice I’m staying away from defining what righteousness and sin are. They have already been clearly defined for us. God’s word clearly lays the two out. As a matter of fact if someone wishes to dismiss or argue the validity of scriptures definitions about these two that’s probably all we need to know. Here is the bottom line for us. What a politician promotes and lives out is important. However, more importantly how we live out these two options is what God wants us focused on. We are called to live a life of righteousness regardless of our government leaders choices. If that puts us in conflict then we have another challenge to face. Today live Godly and vote for The Kingdom. #BeTheEdge

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬
