“let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance—”

Wise people love to learn. That is a truth I discovered as I encountered and worked with wise people over the past few decades. It is not what a young man expects. Early in my journey I assumed wise people lived to impart wisdom. Although they don’t mind sharing it when necessary they much prefer to learn and gain wisdom and insight they don’t already possess. The lesson for me was that when you share the wisdom you have you learn nothing. Only in assuming the posture of student do the wise continue to learn and gain an even clearer view of God. And that is the hearts desire of the truly wise. I have yet to meet a person of great wisdom who believes they do not have more to learn, especially about God. Early in my life with Christ I heard one of my mentors say that the more he learned about Gid the more he realized how little he truly knew. Learner is a position of the heart. It is a humility that almost seems inappropriate because of their stature. God’s greatest gift is salvation. Not far behind is wisdom and understanding. Today stay a learner. #BeTheEdge

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
