“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
I was once asked for a list of what I saw as the 10 most impactful verses in Proverbs. This particular CEO wanted to print them out and have them framed and hung around his offices. It sounded like a great idea. Ultimately I’ve put it on hold. The realization that identifying only 10 was a very difficult task. What was happening during that time in my journey, even that day or minute, had a lot to do with which verses would make the list. I’m back on the task now. With that being said the exception these last couple years since his request is that this verse was always on the list. Living in a family or company, even a world, that not only knew the truth of this verse but operated by it is life altering. It comes with a peace needed now perhaps more that at almost any time in our history. Lives would be not only blessed but some would be healed by this environment. This is the epitome of Jesus challenge to both love Him and be kind. Living out our love for Jesus and others cannot include harsh talk or actions. He was and continues to be the ultimate man of kindness and peace. Today reflect Him. #BeTheEdge
