Proverbs 15:15 NIV

“All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.”

I have had a few health battles in my life. Nothing serious but enough to know I don’t want more. That being said the idea of mental illness scares me almost as much, in some ways even more. Solomon is telling us that those who tend to make the worst out of everything, live with great anxiety about life, are miserable and constantly unhappy. They are pessimists. They cannot enjoy a beautiful day for fear that bad weather may be coming. It points to a lack of faith. A worry that maybe God and His promises are not enough or don’t apply to them. They worry that He may drop the ball or maybe He loves everyone but they deserve bad in their life. Conversely, those who trust whole heartedly in the Lord have nothing but a fleeting interaction with fear and worry. It only takes them a moment to evaluate what is transpiring in light of an eternal perspective of our eternal God. They recognize that God is their Heavenly Father who loves them immeasurably and who has the power to address ever potential worry in their journey. Today trust God, allow Him to remove fear and live cheerfully. #BeTheEdge
