“A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.”
“A peaceful man does more good than a learned one”. – Pope John XXIII. Affectionatly known as “The Good Pope” I think Solomon would agree with this. In his role as king, he saw himself as the “conservator of public peace.” As a follower of Christ we should see ourselves in somewhat the same light. You may not be king and therefore have the same power Solomin did to impose his will but throughout the Book of Proverbs we see him talking about building the type of character that reflects the presence of peace. Jesus was referred to by Isaiah in his great messianic prophecy as the Prince of Peace. Scripture tells us, “For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility.” also, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Jesus is all about peace and equips us to be as well. Whether in families, communities, nations or our own hearts, God offers all the peace we need. Today allow the Prince of Peace to rule your story and spill over onto all who come within your influence. #BeTheEdge
