“The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live.”
I do not like seeing anyone suffer. I’m sure you don’t either. But, as much as i hate to see it happen even when it is a person who brings it on themselves, I really hate to see those in their family pay a price for their greed and crooked actions. The truly innocent have suffered because of others sin since Adam and Eve listened to the serpent. An extreme but gaining in prevalence situation is the greedy parent getting caught and going to prison. The web site Vera states, “Studies show that the growth in incarceration of men with children contributes to higher rates of homelessness among black children in particular by thinning family finances and placing additional strains on mothers. When a mother is incarcerated, her children often end up in foster care, separated from their family.” That’s awful. Scripture tells us greedy parents tend to raise greedy kids. There are spiritual consequences as well. We are told the sins of the father are passed along to the following three and four generations. Conversely, the person who hates graft and dishonesty not only prospers but also creates an environment of blessing. Again, for their future generations and not just for a couple but for a thousand generations. It’s about doing things the right way, God’s way. Today do that. #BeTheEdge
