Proverbs 15:28 NIV

“The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.”

Over the years I’ve noticed a few things that wise leaders have in common. One of the things I’ve most often noticed is that before giving an important response they seem to take a beat and ponder their answer. I suspect they are not only mulling over the facts and options for their counsel but they also consider how the listener will process and respond to their input. That is very wise and takes a serious depth of insight. Conversely I’ve watched foolish people of all ages ready to spout “opinions” at the drop of a hat with little or no reflection on their response. They always stand ready to flippantly interject their worthless or even dangerous opinion and then be greatly offended when it’s not adhered to. The difference is certainly between a wise person and an unwise one. More exactly it is between Godly, wise counsel and self serving, arrogant opinion. A telltale sign of which you are dealing with is how rapidly they respond as well as how they react to your reception of their advice. Today listen carefully. #BeTheEdge
