Proverbs 15:30 NIV

“Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.”

Want to see real joy? Check out the eyes of a child on Christmas morning, a bride as she says “I do” or a new believer as the Holy Spirit takes up residence in their spirit. I suspect the eyes of a Saint right after their last breath on this planet when they step before their savior in eternity show this same joy. Ok, maybe it is a bit more intense in the last example. One reason grandchildren are such a powerful gift from God is that whatever is going on in our lives when we see the face of that child light up every thing else seems to fade in importance. That joy is contagious. You cannot, unless your heart is a rock, stare into those eyes of joy and expectation and not be drawn into their emotion. And our joy is not from just putting a good spin on things. “Being a Christian is not about the power of positive thinking and just trying to always put a rosy spin on life.  Joy is sourced in truth and the promises of God” (RBT) As Christ followers we should reveal, no matter what circumstances life gives us, the joy and hope we have in The Lord. The source of that joy and hope is the Gospel, literally the Good News. Today dwell on the source of joy in your story until it shows from your eyes. #BeTheEdge

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” Jesus
