Proverbs 16:15 NIV

“When a king’s face brightens, it means life; his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.”

What a great picture, watching the face of anyone when something prompts joy in their spirit can be a special moment. When it happens to the one in charge it usually means good news for everyone else. In Solomon’s day it was particularly appropriate as we read in other places for the one condemned to death when the king smiles and gives them a reprieve. That is our story. When we find difficult circumstances enter our lives it is a great comfort to picture the face of our savior as He smiles and reflects His joy and love for us. It reminds us that He is ready to lift our burden. The second half of the verse gives such a beautiful picture of the relief and promise of God’s blessing to come. The “cloud in spring” is better translated as the “latter rain” which meant those March and April showers that sweetened the fruit and produced a more bountiful crop. This verse is a happy picture of joy and refreshment. It mirrors our journey with Gods as He watches us live obediently and boldly in His calling and blessings. It will bring power to your spirit. Today celebrate the joy and blessings of God in your journey. #BeTheEdge
