Proverbs 17:13 NIV

“Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good.”

This is one of the darkest forms of evil. When someone does good for a person and that person repays then with evil that is pretty dark. A friend once helped a person in need of a job by hiring them even though he knew they were not a great fit. He did them a favor. Almost from day one that person began working behind their back to undermine their leadership with the intention of getting them removed and taking their place. It worked. However the company has never achieved its prior level of success since that person took over. It is only a matter of time until they fold. The thing about evil responding to a good deed with more evil is that it can never be rewarded. There is redemption available though. You see we are all guilty and will answer for our response to the good offered through Christ. While we were destined to die for our evil God reached out and offered a rescue. Ultimately we decide to respond with good or evil. We accept His free gift of redemption or we respond with the incredible evil of ignoring the great sacrifice and gift of Jesus on the cross. We set the tone for our families blessings or curses by our response. We bless future generations or we curse them. It does not mean that they cannot be saved it simply means their environment will reflect a Godly heritage or not. Today assure your children of a good start by responding to God’s gift with grace. #BeTheEdge

“Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:9 NIV
