“The human spirit can endure in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?”

I have been battling Covid this week. Well, battling is a bit strong. It hasn’t been nearly as bad for me as it has been for others. Being completely isolated, even in this time of technology, wears on my spirit. Over the years we are all prone to a decent illness or two and in many instances they can tend to get you down. A U.S. Senator had a stroke shortly before he was elected. With no judgement on whether his election was good or bad it appears he is frustrated and saddened by his lack of physical health right now. He checked himself into the hospital battling clinical depression. He literally won an election after his stroke. Obviously the sickness was “endurable” however the lack of ability to do his job seems to have crushed his spirit. We have all watched both kids and adults with handicaps do amazing things. We have also seen perfectly healthy people live in fear and depression to the point of incapacitation. The bottom line truth in this verse is that those with God in their spirit know that physical challenges cannot overcome His presence and plan in their life. Those without Him, having a crushed and broken spirit, are hopeless. Today live as one with eternal hope no matter your circumstances. #BeTheEdge
