“The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.”
A buddy and I are going to meet with a person over at the social security office in a few weeks to learn about Medicare. Yep, we are approaching that stage of life. I guess it’s known as the back side of middle age. As far as I can tell there are new things to learn at every stage of life. At 15 I learned to drive. At 14 I learned geometry, sort of. At 21 I learned to change a diaper, again sort of. Yesterday I learned to unclog a dryer vent. I’m not learning geometry anymore (or using it that I know of). I’m not learning to drive either although there are some who think I might could use a few lessons. The one thing that we all need to continue to learn and grow in is the wisdom and knowledge of God. The more I learn about Him makes me realize how little I know. Not only acquiring knowledge but applying it and living it out is a never ending journey that ultimately leads to eternity. Here is the thing. If somehow that process seems difficult or a drudgery then we are doing it wrong or for the wrong reason. Growing to know God is like starting and growing in a beautiful relationship that will never end. Today dive in deeper and enjoy the ride. #BeTheEdge
