“A brother wronged is more unyielding than a fortified city; disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.”
There are very few people more aggravating then family and close friends. They are also the ones we need to work the hardest to prevent arguing and fighting with. These are the ones we are most prone to carrying too far and have deeper hurts from. We care what they think much more then the average other person we may interact with. Wisdom tells us that those closest to us should be the easiest to show grace and forgiveness, however, pride and a foolish sense of competition and comparison can make it the most difficult. All the way back to Cain and Able we see family disputes or jealousy wreak havoc on families and those whose relationships should be most fiercly guarded and protected. Measuring words, thinking about the true value in our statements and pondering them to their ultimate conclusion would help save many marriages and relationships. The immediate emotions released, no matter how pent up they may be, will never deliver the long term outcome we truly desire. Today speak words of life, love and peace especially to those closest to you…or stay quiet. BeTheEdge
