Proverbs 18:2 NIV

“Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.”

Facts are just an inconvenience to foolish people. The number one pillar of a biblical worldview is that God’s word is true, it’s infallible. It’s fact. Every social ill can be traced to dismissing, ignoring or just being ignorant of God’s opinion on the issue. These same people love arguing their opinion of whatever subject is being discussed. They are proud in their ignorance although they truly believe they are wiser or more understanding of the situation than anyone else. God tells us that the ignorant believe they are brilliant. Don’t believe it? Check out any social media. Are you not on social media? Check out any other source of media. In reality God’s Kingdom people are pretty aware of this already. The more disheartening place where this verse plays out is within the body of Christ. Believers arguing with one another is too often the norm these days. When they begin proudly throwing around their opinion it becomes very off putting. No one is that impressed with theological know it alls. When they don’t really know what they are talking about it is even less impressive. Rather, be kind and people will beg you for your wisdom. Today swap arrogant opinions for kindness. #BeTheEdge

“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
