Proverbs 19:19 NIV

“A hot-tempered person must pay the penalty; rescue them, and you will have to do it again.”

The first thing that leaps to my mind when reading this verse is our children. Over the past few years I’ve heard a lot of complaints about millennials. As parents of millennials I remember all the criticism about over parenting. I believe the term helicopter parent came into existence because of us. The new term is even worse. Lawnmower parents are so named because they appear to mow down any obstacle that stands in their child’s way. Two of the greatest disservice’s we do for a person is not allowing them to face difficult challenges and not letting them face the consequences of their bad behavior. Solomon tells us here that if we intercept those consequences we will make the behavior worse and it becomes a part of their character. For the personal application, if we don’t rule over our anger God and good people will ultimately take action and we will pay a price for it. Today pay the price, learn the lesson and grow. #BeTheEdge
