I want to remind us that it’s not when we face a war but that we are always at war. I’ve mentioned before Steve Brown’s reminder that spiritual war rages constantly over every square inch of the universe. There is no neutral ground and every inch is controlled either by the forces of God or Satan and are all being fought over now. That truth includes the square inches occupied by each of us. This battle requires on our part constant wise counsel and guidance. The Bible with God’s Holy Spirit leading us as well as great teachers, writers and close brothers and sisters in the faith, especially older ones with experience, are a must in this raging battle. Determining who those counselors should be is a critical part of our journey in Christ. When we realize that we need their insight and wisdom for more than advice in buying a house, where to invest our resources or where to work it takes on a whole new level of urgency. Those things are very important and also require spiritual input. However, as we elevate our awareness to the reality that we are always at war with the powers of darkness those walking into battle with us become brothers and sisters on an almost mystical level. It is certainly a supernatural level. God intends us to battle these forces of evil together. Today consider who fills that crucial role in your journey. #BeTheEdge
