“A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them.”
Ouch! Calvary Chapel describes the threshing wheel as “a heavy stone wheel that was pulled by oxen or horses (or in Samson’s case, by a man) that would roll in a circle over wheat or corn that was put in its path. As the heavy wheel rolled over the grain it would crush the grain separating the wheat”. That does not sound like something anyone would want to have run across their body. However, Solomon tells us that’s exactly what the king did to the wicked when he discovered them. The picture is the king separating them from his people and putting an end to their evil influence. The king was committed to protecting his people no matter what the cost to the evil ones. Our Heavenly Father feels the same about you. Read that again. He is certainly saddened by our allowing those opposed to His desire for us to lead us astray but He is more than sad, He is angry at those who would try and do that to us. Remember the words of Jesus about those who would try and lead astray one of His little ones. He said, “it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” This truth also goes for those inside the kingdom who would mislead other believers as well. Again that’s why Paul discourages those who try to be teachers but should not. They carry a heavier burden to be correct. Today avoid the evil and test everything against the word of God. #BeTheEdge
