Can i just tell you I love Solomon using the word “winnows”. I mean when was the last time you used that word in a conversation? Try and use it correctly in a conversation today and see how that goes. Let me help you prepare for that task. The word winnow means, “to remove (something, such as chaff) by a current of air.” No wonder we don’t use it often. And Solomon did this with his eyes. With his looks King Solomon could cause evil to flee his presence. Sometimes he would diligently inspect someone or something and have it removed or suppressed. Jesus could heal or disperse with a look. He also winnowed out evil. I’m afraid that whether on tv or in life my tendency is to be engaged by or entertained by things that pass before my eyes that should be winnowed out. The chaff. God reveals often in scripture that chaff does not have a promising future with Him. There is an actual winnowing fan that blows the chaff away from the harvested wheat. God will one day remove the chaff from our story, not with spoken words, but with a look. It will be painful but necessary. Today use His guidance and allow Him to remove the chaff from your story. #BeTheEdge
