Proverbs 2:12 NIV

“Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,”

In school I had friends who were more interested in the smart kids doing poorly then they were in excelling themselves. This was mostly true when the teacher was grading on a curve. The highest grade became an ‘A’ and the scale was set from there. There are people who love sinning. You are probably not surprised by that. Here is the worst part, they want you to sin with them. You are probably aware of that too on some level. The thing that can be difficult for a committed follower of God is to understand that there are those who enjoy getting you to sin even more then sinning themselves. There is a darkness over lost hearts that finds pleasure in causing others to fall. It is not joy, joy is truly only available to the Christ follower. However there is a perverse pleasure in getting others to sin. It not only reinforces the twisted logic that somehow if you are flawed their flaws are ok. More then that is the idea that getting you to sin levels down some kind of playing field. In a world of trying to have good acts out weigh bad ones on judgment day others feel if you fail it helps their balance sheet. They hope God is grading on a curve. The Truth, and it really is Good News, is that God grades pass/fail. Those with a relationship with Jesus pass. Those without one fail. It is purely an individual standing before God and answering that on question. “What did you do with my son, Jesus?” Today be sure you get that one question right. #BeTheEdge
