“There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.”
I’m going to go with decades of experience here, we cannot out think or out maneuver God. And why in the world would we ever want to? Oh sure, in the short term we can be foolish enough to think we know better. We can believe what we want for us is more important than what God wants. We may even convince ourselves that what we want is what God would want if He truly knew all the facts. Read that again and see how foolish humans have a tendency to be. A commentary put it this way, “Try as we might, human beings cannot out-think God. Nor can we trick Him, overcome Him, or out-maneuver His will.” (Bible Ref) Again I ask why in the world would we ever want to try. Leaning again on decades of experience, a true sign of maturity is that as we grow we quit trying to ever figure a way around God. We realize much quicker that we ultimately do want what He wants. His plan is always going to be better than any plan we could possibly want without Him. As soon as we learn that the less friction we experience as we tend to walk smoothly in His will. Scripture makes it clear that He will get us to the point of conformity to His Son, whether we do it willingly hand-in-hand, enjoying the journey or fighting him every step of the way and being dragged there. He is committed to conforming us to his son’s image, which is truly what we all want deep in our soul. Today let’s join him in that. #BeTheEdge
