Solomon wants the young men reading this at the time to know that Godly wisdom will keep them from what was the greatest and most destructive temptation they faced. The truth of this verse is still relevant today. You can certainly leave sexual sin and all those who try and tempt God’s followers into it as a great risk. However, there are many other sins that can take a follower down today. Imagine this verse with social media, internet access, movies, and so many other ways satan can infiltrate the lives of believers. The core truth of this verse is that God’s wisdom is the only way to defeat the temptations of this world. A reminder of His power and the consequences of sin comes through His truth. Without the parameters of His truth we live in an anything goes world. One described in the Bible as everyone doing whatever they felt like. You no longer have to look far to see that today. Gods wisdom is not handcuffs, it’s a gift. As the creator and author of life He knows best how we should live to maximize the incredible gift of our story. His wisdom is based on love for His children. He proved this by giving His son to redeem us. Today live wisely. #BeTheEdge
