Proverbs 21:7 NIV

“The violence of the wicked will drag them away, for they refuse to do what is right.”

I don’t know if I know a truly wicked person. Oh, I know of some. Any student of history has heard of Hitler. I recently saw a list of the 12 most evil people of all history and in the top 12, 5 were Nazi leaders in Hitlers regime including him. I’m pretty sure that was not an exhaustive list. I would certainly include Herod The Great. History and the Bible tell us that he “initiated a murder of all the infants in Bethlehem in an attempt to get rid of the baby Jesus.” Someone who wipes out all infants 2 years old and under out of a perceived threat to their future power is a dark soul. One distinctive of all the people on these lists is none of them died happy. This is very clearly a verse about the way you treat others and that it will rebound back on you or more succinctly you reap what you sow. A life lived first and foremost to bless, encourage and love those around you will result in encouraging and loving people around you who will bless your life. A life lived with ill and selfish intent will find your life ultimately surrounded by the same environment of people. This, as so much of scripture, is not a blanket, all encompassing 100% guarantee but it is a truth and a principle that holds true in the physical world as well as the spiritual. Today be kind and loving as a child of God for the sake of His call, it will contribute to your future environment as well. #BeTheEdge
