Proverbs 22:29 NIV

“Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.”

The original language for this verse more fully means quick and skillful. All business leaders want diligent workers but most will tell you that diligence without ability is basically useless. Solomon wants us to know that when we operate within the gifting that God gave each of us we not only have an impact but we serve those over us well. No one wants to work for the obscure doing unimportant work. The hard-working, skillful employee is not going to be satisfied working for disreputable or crooked bosses or companies. In The Edge ministry we talk a lot about being in alignment. Utilizing the gifts and talents God built you with in work that is suited to them brings us into alignment. It causes us to look forward to work and, although tired, we end the day fulfilled and at peace that we spent our time “with purpose on purpose” as David would say. Today work hard doing what you were built to do and live with joy. #BeTheEdge

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
