“Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.” ‬‬

I am a fan of the humble. Not the insecure or just introverted. I probably would fit those two adjectives. But the truly humble. They are comfortable in their own skin. By that I mean they understanding their gifts and talents. They are pretty much aware of how God made them. They contribute to His kingdom and the planet at a maximum capacity utilizing those gifts and talents. They are grateful for the opportunity to do that yet recognize that they are ultimately not responsible for being given those things but that they are completely responsible for growing into them and deploying them on behalf of others. Solomon tells us that the humility God recognizes and rewards understands His role verses ours and is based on a correct reverence for who He is. It can be easy, too easy, when we contribute well to hear accolades from a world that is unfamiliar with the source of all gifts and talents. Whether others recognize it, all good things come from above. Accolades are not inherently bad or evil. They can actually be helpful as long as those receiving them allow them to be an opportunity to identify our creators hand in our successes. If we are humble this verse let’s us know God has rewards waiting. “Spiritual riches, the riches of grace and glory; honour with God and men now, and everlasting life in the world to come.” Today pursue God’s call in your life and when praise comes point to the author of your story.. #BeTheEdge
