Proverbs 23:12 NIV

“Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.”

I like this from Bible ref. “This means that true wisdom requires intentional choices; a person can “know” what is right, but the heart must apply that knowledge to real-life situations”. This verse is for everyone, parent and child, teacher and student, boss and employee. I am confident we are all aware that just because we know something it does not become useful information for us until we put it into practice. An extreme example is where scripture tells us that demons are aware of who Jesus truly is yet it does them no good. The truth makes them rightly tremble with fear but they do not have a personal, yielded relationship with him. They believe He is who He is but they won’t respond in faith. Many humans are in the same place. For a variety of reasons they know who God is but refuse to humble themselves, repent and invite Him to take over their story. This verse is directed to those who need educating as well as those of us already educated yet always needing more. We will never fully arrive at understanding until we are with Him face to face. In the meantime we are to learn, put it into practice so we can learn more and so on and so on. It is a never ending process. And it is good. If there was not something inherently good in the process we would give our lives to God and He would immediately bring us home. Today listen, learn then apply. Then do it all over again. #BeTheEdge
