“Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive.”
Billions and billions of dollars are spent on lottery tickets every year. That money is not spent to help education although that is what the lottery marketing will tell you . It is also not because a lot of people win those big jackpots or because the odds are good buying a ticket will pay off for the purchaser. It is because it is easy to crave the things of wealth and the lottery seems a quick and easy way to get them. This is not a pro or anti lottery devotion. This is about craving the things of the wealthy. Solomon, who was incredibly wealthy, saw the kind of things people were willing to do in their pursuit of wealth. He saw firsthand how it could destroy their lives and cause them to do unwise things. He saw that it could also cause them to sacrifice what was important for what, though often very unattainable, falsely appeared to be important. The fruit of the spirit described in Galatians does not come from acquiring wealth. What God sees as wealth is so opposite what the world sees. He flips it on its head. When we get to heaven, we will literally walk on gold, it will be the asphalt of His kingdom. Today pursue God, not wealth. #BeTheEdge
