“Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all.”
This is surely one of life’s great equalizers. It is seen in the start and finish of our journey. We may enter life in a family of wealth but that wealth is not something we brought with us and when we breathe our last it does not go with us. The fact we may have had it means absolutely nothing the instant after that final breath. The reminder in this verse that although we come and leave with nothing we have the option to make one fateful decision while we are here, to receive the incalculable gift of eternal life in heaven. Living life with the constant awareness of the truth in this verse will affect how we interact with everyone we meet. To recognize that at our very basic level we are no more and no less than anyone else. We recognize that whoever we interact with is of equal value to their creator. That each person was made with the same level of intimate love from their Heavenly Father and worth the price of His Son. Today treat everyone as a supernatural, eternal creation of God. #BeTheEdge
