Hope. One of the greatest gifts God gives us is hope. I have often considered the fact that in heaven hope does not exist. Everything we should ever hope for will be a present reality there. However, here on the fallen planet hope is a sweet gift of God. It is not a blind hope. God’s track record of fulfilling the hopes of His children is perfect. There is plenty of evidence throughout biblical history of Him fulfilling the hopes of those who trust in Him. This verse does imply there is some degree of effort in acquiring the wisdom that gives us hope. But, it also lets us know that, like honey, it brings a sweet reward. Solomon let’s us know that wisdom is not just useful but it is a delight and to be enjoyed. Ultimately wisdom informs us that God is true, right, trustworthy, loving and kind. That is a sweet view of our eternal King. That is someone we can place our hopes in and trust to fulfill them. Today pursue God’s wisdom and enjoy the hope it brings. #BeTheEdge
