Proverbs 26:27 NIV

“Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.”

What goes around comes around. You reap what you sow. Just a couple other sayings that reflect some of Solomon’s point in this verse. I’m not big on the whole Karma idea but its foundation is surely found in this truth. Back in the day hunters, especially those not interested in it as a sport but rather a means to feed their family, would dig pits and disguise them hoping the wild game would fall in it and be stuck. There was on occasion stories of the hunter accidentally falling in their own pit and being stuck or even dying there. That is the ultimate backfiring of a plan. In the same way hunters, or even those in battle would roll a large bolder up a hill to release on the prey as it came back. Too often they would weary pushing the boulder up the hill and it would roll back on them. Often it would crush them. Most of us have had the opportunity to witness someone trying to hurt or destroy another only to have their plan backfire on them. The book of Esther is a great example of this truth. It is all done in deceit. A forthright and honest person of integrity does not resort to these measures in dealing with others. It might be ok for catching wild game but it is never ok in dealing with others. If you ever find yourself setting a trap for another stop and walk away. Today live out in the open in all your dealings. #BeTheEdge

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Jesus
