“Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.”

“Friendship isn’t a big thing—it’s a million little things.” (Paul Coelho) “Sometimes the best advice a true friend shares is silence”. There is no shortage of great quotes about friends and friendship. I believe the reason is because friendship is a universal expression of the very heart of God for His creation. We were built with a deep need for relationship. God first built into us a place of longing for Him and for the eternal. Next He built us not to be alone. The way we love and treat one another as His followers is a direct reflection of His presence and influence in our lives. Jesus declared that the watching world will know we are His followers and how He operates with us by the way we love one another. Church tradition tells us that toward the end of his life the apostle John, who wrote a fair portion of the New Testament, was carried church to church. They would ask him to share and he would say, “Love one another.”  They would then ask for more and he would repeat, “Love one another.” Of all he learned and knew of his Lord, in the time he had left, he distilled it down to what he felt was most important. Three simple yet profound words, “Love one another.” Today let’s take that to heart and practice it. #BeTheEdge

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Jesus
