Proverbs 28:10 NIV

“Whoever leads the upright along an evil path will fall into their own trap, but the blameless will receive a good inheritance.” Proverbs 28:10 NIV

Bullies are not unpopular kids, as we often think. In fact, more than half the time they are popular kids. They are not looking to be loved, they are looking to be noticed. Often adults are ‘bullied’ by those who don’t like standing next to the light. What I mean is that when you live a Christlike lifestyle, it can make the one who doesn’t live that same lifestyle feel bad, or even guilty. It is not that you are judging or condemning them, although that claiming you are is a favorite form of bullying. Those not living a life reflecting the character of Christ often try to get those who are to join them in their dark or sinful behavior. They find it easier or more satisfying to drag you down than to be drawn up. Our challenge, assuming you are striving to love others for Jesus, is to avoid the traps and temptations set by the evil one through those people we associate with. It takes an incredible internal strength to stand up to the pressure applied by others at times. When that occurs, recognize the source of the attack – the broken ego of another, and ultimately, the evil one working through their weaknesses. Today, don’t be bullied, stand firm in your faith and walk the life of a child of God. #BeTheEdge
