Proverbs 28:12 NIV

“When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.”

I have been reading through the New Testament this year so naturally with 3 days to go in the year I’m in the Book of Revelation. Although it is a bit challenging for the non scholar like myself to fully grasp its every detail I can clearly see the battles between good and evil. When Satan’s forces win and rule the good people scatter to the hills for survival. When God’s side wins they rejoice and join the battle. Without getting political we see the same thing today. If good wins their side is quick to want to stand up and cheer. When it loses it is easy to withdraw, keep your head down and hope to survive. Some interpretations tell us that the wicked rising to power is a time of testing our character and when we see one’s true nature come out. Wherever you are on the political spectrum this truth is bigger. There will always be a battle between good and evil. C S Lewis tells us that a battle between God and Satan rages over ever square inch of the universe including the ones you occupy. Today fight the good fight. #BeTheEdge

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
