Proverbs 28:16 NIV

“A tyrannical ruler practices extortion, but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.”

This leader first betrays the love and trust of those who looked to them. Next they bring loss and even poverty on their people and finally they end up dead to them. Certainly as a leader but eventually physically. This leader is in desperate need of wisdom but doesn’t search for it. He chooses instead to follow his base instincts and to torment and abuse those he leads. In this example they literally run from good counsel and pursues misery and the unjust treatment of their followers, team or staff. It is easy and can even seem profitable for a season to pursue unjustly gained wealth. Even illegal gain can seem worthwhile for a while. Ultimately it will catch up with them. How many white collar criminals tried to fool the system, investors and their own teams only to get caught in the end. There is no happy ending to this persons story without an abrupt turn to the savior. Thankfully we see great examples of leaders who have no use for ill gotten gain and who care more for their people than wealth. Today be that Godly leader. #BeTheEdge
