“I have not learned wisdom, nor have I attained to the knowledge of the Holy One.”
This has been referred to as radical humility. When we look at ourselves in comparison to the person of God, I’m not sure how we can avoid existing in radical humility every moment of our lives. The thing that lifts us to a place of quiet confidence and value is knowing that we are created, loved, and valuable to our Creator. And if that’s true, what more do we need? A couple of days ago, I listened to a friend who has an Oscar for a movie she helped produce. She talked about how, even with that amazing achievement, she spent the majority of her life looking for an audience to live for and to validate her. The shift in her spirit came about when she fully recognized that God loved and approved of her. She no longer needed that from anyone else. What a powerful experience that set her free! In this verse, the writer was not only humble but also a bit sarcastic toward the arrogant and false teachers we all occasionally encounter. Today, live life with the confidence that God holds you with a powerful love and acceptance. #BeTheEdge
