“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,”

There is a New Years resolution that will change your life. Committing God’s Word to memory can not only equip you it will change you. God’s Word is not essentially for historical knowledge. There are better history books. It’s not even basically for information. It is given to us for transformation. Transforming us into the image of Jesus. That’s powerful change. If you are at all like me you might find memorization a challenge. That made school difficult for me at times. I have found that bite size pieces of scripture are very manageable,  even for me. A verse a week or even a month can build a great resource library of transformative truth in my life. Only one a month for 10 years will give you 120 passages of God’s living, life changing gift at a moments recall. I am approaching 50 years of walking with God. I wish I could say I am approaching 600 verses memorized. Though I’ve never stopped to count I am committed to adding more powerful truths to my heart and mind in the years I have left. Today find a verse and begin to commit it to heart. #BeTheEdge
